Project Description:

During a two-day design challenge at university, I conceived "Garden City," a project that redefines urban living with a unique emphasis on nature. The central idea was to create a vertical housing structure, where each resident benefits from their own garden space, fostering a deep connection with natural elements.

This concept addresses the growing need for green spaces within urban environments. By incorporating gardens into a vertical structure, the design efficiently uses limited urban space while providing residents with their own slice of nature. This approach not only enhances the living experience but also contributes to the ecological health of the city.

The architectural language of "Garden City" is defined by its use of stone cladding. Large panels of stone not only lend a timeless and robust aesthetic but also ground the structure in a natural, earthy palette. This choice of material reflects a commitment to durability and environmental harmony.

In addition to the stone cladding, the building incorporates vertical barrier elements. These features are not just structural necessities; they are designed to complement the gardens, providing protection and support for plant life while also contributing to the building's overall visual appeal.

The garden spaces are thoughtfully integrated into the design, ensuring that each resident has direct access to their own green area. This design choice brings a fragment of the countryside into the urban context, allowing residents to cultivate their own gardens and connect with nature on a daily basis.
